Navigator, Family Wrap Hawaii (On-call ~10 hrs/wk, Hilo)

Job Description:
The Wrap Navigator helps navigate a compassionate, efficient, productive, respectful, and safe Wrap meeting for the youth, family, and service providers. Provides continued support to the Facilitator throughout the duration of the Wrap case. Responsibilities include consulting with the Facilitator, parent, and youth advocate before each Wrap meeting. Follows-up on tasks assigned to Wrap team members and identifies any barriers or concerns. The Navigator assists the team in assuring strategies and solutions can be accomplished, finding "out-of-the-box" ways to barrier-bust. The Navigator ensures that all confirmed key participants have a general but clear understanding of the Wrap process and protocols, makes final preparations and adjustments in collaboration and consultation with the Facilitator and Wrap program manager.

Education/Skills/Experience:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning and a minimum of one (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training. Successful criminal and child abuse and neglect background clearance as required by state regulations for those who work with children and families in the Child Welfare System. Must have valid driver’s license, acceptable motor vehicle abstract, and access to an insured vehicle. Must maintain an ethical, responsible and professional attitude and demeanor under all circumstances in person, by phone, e-mail and correspondence, in order to effectively and efficiently engage and maintain working relationships with families, professionals and youth who are undergoing complex and crisis situations. Individual with experience working with families whose children have been harmed or threatened with harm and in facilitation and/or mediation, preferred. Individual with culturally relevant training and/or experience specific to the community served, preferred. Team player with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Demonstrated a high degree of professionalism and maturity. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in person and on the phone are required for this position. Ability to be proficient with computer use including keyboarding, word processing, and database manipulation. Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are required. Successful criminal and child abuse and neglect background clearance as required by state regulations (required for those who work with children and families in the Child Welfare System).
